Today, the French Labor Authority approved my application for a work permit. The next step is for them to send my file to the French consulate in New York, where I'll be able to pick up my long-stay visa.
This photo is from the 6th arrondissement, taken during my last visit to Paris. The café in the center is called Les Deux Magots, where the likes of Sartre, Camus, Hemingway and Picasso (among others I'm sure) used to hang out. On the next corner to the left is Café de Flore, also very famous. By now, of course, these two cafés are pretty much just tourist traps, but still cool to see nonetheless.
Congrat Rob! Finally you get what you want. The sad part is you will leave soon.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I lived in Paris for years as a young woman, and if you know Hemingway's quote, it is indeed a 'movable feast.'
ReplyDeleteI used to occasionally hang out at Les Deux Magots, but I am not famous...yet.
Maybe not famous but I've read just as many of your books than of Hemingway's!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's great news. Wow, you'll be leaving NY soon, continuing your blog in Paris I hope.
